DAR stands for "Dining Height Armchair R-Wire Base" and is part of the Vitra Eames Plastic Chairs - Collection. Designed by Ray and Charles Eames as early as 1950, it was the first plastic chair to be mass-produced. To this day it is manufactured by Vitra in Weil am Rhein and combines American design with Swiss quality like no other design.
