Design House Stockholm presents a contemporary vision of the traditional light source with the Fyr Kerosene Lamp, designed by Johan Larsvall. This lighting piece combines aesthetics and functionality, providing lighting that can be used all year round. Larsvall has broken down the classic oil lamp design, which has remained largely unchanged for over a century, into its elementary forms and reimagined it. It creates a simple elegance by supporting the cylindrical body on a narrow center that expands into a conical base.
The Fyr Kerosene Lamp is characterized by its conical base and the fixed middle section, which holds the cylindrical wick. In addition, a glass cylinder protects the flame. The solid, finely shaped regulator allows for precise flame adjustment and makes it easier to tilt the lamp for transport. The completely transparent glass base provides insight into the oil level and allows users to easily monitor wick adjustment by turning the knob.
