by @industrialkonzept Team

In the heart of Paris, Galerie Kreo has opened its doors to a fascinating world of creativity and presents the inspiring exhibition "Virgil Abloh: Echosystems". This extraordinary exhibition provides a glimpse into the limitless creativity of Virgil Abloh, a multi-talented artist known for his cross-genre work that connects communities and transcends artistic boundaries. Curated by Hugo Vitrani, the exhibition not only showcases Abloh's most recent works, but also pays tribute to the artistic influences that have shaped his remarkable journey, including icons such as Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring.

Virgil Abloh's work is a testament to the power of inclusivity. It bridges gaps between diverse communities and challenges traditional artistic boundaries. The exhibition focuses on Abloh's masterpieces, including the "WORLD LEADERS" ladder, the impressive "TOWER HILLS" embossed bronze chair and the fascinating "MIDWAY VILLAGE" bench.

Vitrani's curation deftly weaves together Abloh's diverse experiences and highlights the artist's unique origins. Abloh's story is one of a multifaceted identity, shaped by his childhood as an American child with Ghanaian roots on the outskirts of Chicago, a city inspired by rhythms drawn from Fela Kuti, James Brown and Miles Davis. His youth was marked by a passion for skateboarding, a subversive and liberating pursuit that allowed him to ride bikes through city streets, defying utilitarian structures and redefining their purpose.

While Abloh takes center stage, "Virgil Abloh: Echosystems" isn't just limited to his work. The exhibition also presents a diverse selection of artists who have left their mark on the creative landscape, including Erwan Bouroullec, Sophie Bramly, Martha Cooper, Bruce Davidson, Tom Dixon, Marcel Duchamp, Futura 2000, Konstantin Grcic, Gordon Matta-Clark, AR Penck, Jerszy Seymour, Pablo Tomek and Dondi White.
