About Frederik Molenschot

Born in 1981, Frederik Molenschot graduated from the renowned Design Academy Eindhoven and is an influential figure in the Dutch design movement. Currently based in Amsterdam, he is the visionary founder of Studio Molen and is constantly generating new ideas that inspire others with his boundless energy. Molenschot's work encompasses a variety of artistic expressions and is driven by his deep interest in the coexistence of man-made and natural elements in our environment. His ultimate goal is to transport the viewer's senses into unexplored realms of perception.

Molenschot's cast bronze light structures, particularly his City Light series, have earned him significant recognition. Through meticulous hand sculpting and intricate formations, he directs light and draws inspiration from cityscapes and the celestial glow of the night sky to offer a visionary glimpse into the cities of the future.

Reflecting on his artistic philosophy, Molenschot shares: "If you’re an architect, your world is a building, a graphic designer works on a newspaper or a wall, while a landscape architect plays with nature itself. I try and draw all these worlds together and see what happens when they meet."
