In the Pressure Series, Tim Teven employs material deformation under extreme pressure as a creative design element. This process, in which metal is manipulated by applying pressure, not only results in fascinating technical details but also enriches the objects with new visual and tactile qualities.
The vases in this collection are made from open steel tubes that are subjected to immense pressure of up to 45 metric tons. This intense treatment causes the tubes to deform and create attractive folds. This transformation gives the otherwise hard and cool material a soft and appealing appearance. A fascinating design object that is ideally used as a vase.
