The complete Zaha Hadid
An updated monograph of the first great woman architect of the 21st century
Zaha Hadid was a revolutionary architect. For years she was widely celebrated and won numerous awards, although she built practically nothing. Some even claimed that it was almost impossible to implement their designs. Nonetheless, Hadid's visions became a reality in her later years, bringing a new, unique architectural vocabulary to cities and projects such as the Port House in Antwerp, the Al Janoub Stadium near Doha in Qatar and the stunning new airport building in Beijing.
At the time of her untimely passing in 2016, Hadid was firmly established among the highest architectural elite, working on projects in Europe, China, the Middle East and the United States. She was the first architect to receive both the Pritzker Architecture Prize and the prestigious RIBA Royal Gold Medal. Her long-term partner Patrik Schumacher now runs the Zaha Hadid Architects office.
Based on the XXL monograph, this comprehensively updated, handy edition covers Hadid's entire body of work through to ongoing projects. With copious photos, extensive sketches and Hadid's own drawings, the volume follows her career, not only capturing her most groundbreaking buildings, but also including her designs for furniture and interiors that were part of her unique world, which unmistakably stamped the 21st century carries.
