Magnetism translated into wearable form: industrial × Claustrum

Magnetism translated into wearable form: industrial × Claustrum

von @industrialkonzept Team

Founded in 2004, Claustrum emerged when designer Takeshi Endo transformed his grandparents’ plate glass workshop in Ginza into a studio dedicated to high strength steel. What began as a space for experimentation evolved into a language of objects that merge precision with ritual.

Claustrum is known for its one-hand mechanisms and modular constructions: card cases that slide open with a single motion, key holders that fold with magnetic tension, Apple Watch frames that turn a piece of technology into jewelry. Each work is crafted in Tokyo, cut and finished by hand.

At the center of Endo’s vision lies an idea of steel not as cold utility but as a material with rhythm — something that can accompany the gestures of everyday life. A business card exchanged. A key turned. A watch fastened.

For industrialkonzept, this collaboration carries Claustrum’s philosophy into wearable form. A magnetic ring and chain, made in Tokyo, translate the brand’s structural clarity into jewelry. Functional yet poetic, the piece continues the dialogue between object and ritual that defines Claustrum.
