by @industrialkonzept Team

Carpenters Workshop Gallery presents the first solo show by acclaimed Dutch artist Frederik Molenschot, showcasing his remarkable work ATLAS 2000. From June 1 to September 16, 2023, art enthusiasts can enjoy Molenschot's extraordinary creations at the Parisian exhibition space, located in the vibrant Marais neighborhood, at 54 Rue de la Verrerie.

Taking center stage on the second floor, this highly anticipated exhibition unveils a collection of new works including Gingerblimp, Artificial Forest, Bridge Beat, S TATI CA, The Grasspeople and Cosmos Life. It offers an exclusive insight into the artist's immense talent and visionary approach.

Molenschot's expertise in working with materials such as steel and bronze is particularly evident in the Gingerblimp, Artificial Forest and Bridge Beat series, where he creates monumental and intricately detailed pieces. Gingerblimp presents organic structures that exude a strangely familiar allure, while Artificial Forest explores the fragile interplay between nature and artificiality. The Bridge Beat series transports us into a world of fantasy and reflects the artist's fascination with architecture and engineering.

A master of combining past and present, Molenschot skillfully blends noble materials, elegant forms, cutting-edge technology and contemporary cultural references. He describes himself as a landscape sculptor and shapes the essence of landscapes into detailed art objects that transcend and fascinate conventional boundaries.

Known for his innovative approach and mastery of ancient techniques such as metalworking, casting and engraving, Molenschot's multidisciplinary art explores profound themes such as history, nature and technology. His creations have the power to captivate and inspire audiences by offering a unique insight into a world where creativity knows no boundaries.

About Frederik Molenschot

Born in 1981, Frederik Molenschot is a graduate of the prestigious Design Academy Eindhoven and an influential figure in the Dutch design movement. Currently based in Amsterdam, he is the visionary founder of Studio Molen and is constantly generating new ideas that inspire others with his boundless energy. Molenschot's work encompasses a variety of artistic expressions and is driven by his deep interest in the coexistence of man-made and natural elements in our environment. His ultimate goal is to transport the viewer's senses into unexplored realms of perception.

Molenschot's cast bronze light structures, particularly his City Light series, have earned him significant recognition. Through careful hand-sculpting and complex formations, he directs the light and draws inspiration from cityscapes and the celestial glow of the night sky to offer a visionary insight into the cities of the future.

Reflecting on his artistic philosophy, Molenschot shares, "As architects shape buildings, graphic designers leave their mark on newspapers and walls, and landscape architects play with the essence of nature, I strive to bring these different fields together and experience the transformative magic that occurs when they interweave."
