Designed by Herbert Hirche in 1953 as a personal piece for his own home, the Lounge Chair reflects the clarity and restraint of the Bauhaus tradition, where Hirche studied under Mies van der Rohe before later working with both Mies and Egon Eiermann. Initially a one-off prototype during his tenure at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, the chair was first produced in series in 2000. It is available in a range of textiles, leather, cowhide, and an outdoor version — always maintaining its architectural presence and quiet confidence.
