A bench seats several people in the space of two chairs, which makes it useful at a dining table, in a hallway, at the foot of a bed or outdoors. Without a backrest it slides under the table and keeps a room visually open. Plan about 60 cm of length per person and a seat height of 45 to 47 cm for dining.
Leading brands include HAY with benches by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Frama, Kristina Dam Studio, AYTM, HKLIVING, OBJEKTE UNSERER TAGE, Söderberg from Berlin with brutalist pieces produced in Germany, and Gufram with its sculptural, pop-art seating.
