Casa MRGT: A modern industrial loft in the heart of Turin

by @industrialkonzept Team

In the heart of Turin's Barriera di Milano rises Casa MRGT, a stunning loft spanning four floors in an industrial building. Designed by lamatilde for a Canadian-born car designer, this 350 square meter loft is a fusion of urban minimalism and industrial aesthetics, complemented by a 250 square meter roof terrace.

Unique spatial concept

Casa MRGT is characterized by an open space concept in which geometric volumes define the different areas. Dark metal accents contrast with the wide, light-flooded areas and create an interplay of light and shadow.

Innovative use of space

Inside, there are stacked metal structures, including a home cinema made of blackened carbon steel sheet and a cozy guest room wrapped in micro-perforated sheet metal.

A garage as a gallery

The first floor serves as both a garage and a gallery for the owner's classic car collection. With vibrant yellow accents and exposed structural elements, the space becomes an eclectic backdrop.

Industrial Loft

Living and design combined

The second floor features an open plan living area, including a kitchen island designed by lamatilde. A mix of modern and classic elements, including Charles sofas from B&B Italia and Wassily armchairs from Knoll, characterize the ambience. A large Tavolo 25 table by Desalto, surrounded by Calligaris chairs and illuminated by an Algorithm chandelier by Vibia, completes the dining area.

Industrial Loft

Privacy and design

The third floor houses the master bedroom, centered around a walk-in closet. An open space with a walk-in shower and free-standing bathtub, complemented by design classics such as the LC4 chaise longue by Cassina. A wooden slatted structure offers individual lighting design and privacy.

Roof terrace as a highlight

The top floor crowns the loft with a roof terrace that offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the city. A pergola, outdoor kitchen, seating areas, sauna and a swimming pool surrounded by lush greenery and small fruit trees make this area an absolute highlight.

Industrial Loft

Casa MRGT is a tribute to modern design that perfectly combines the industrial with the residential, making it a milestone in contemporary architecture.
