A journey through the "Fireplace" project by Messner Architects

by @industrialkonzept Team

Klobenstein am Ritten - a place that breathes the tradition of craftsmanship. Here, where the past remains alive and the future is shaped, a unique vision unfolds. In the midst of this backdrop, "Fireplace" by Messner Architects was born - a project that captures the essence of heritage and progress in perfect harmony. Let's dive into the story behind this remarkable endeavor that fuses craftsmanship, innovation and inspiration.

The "Fireplace" project as a bridge between tradition and innovation

The traditional history of Ofenmanufaktur Pöhl began in 1962, when the current owner Andreas, the son of the master stove builder, founded the company. The manufactory is based in the production hall, administration area and exhibition space in the artisan zone of Klobenstein on the Ritten high plateau - a place known for its flourishing craftsmanship.

The art of redesign: a clear concept for the exhibition

The renovation of the showroom had a clear objective: to make the existing area clearer and more appealing to customers. In their search for their individual stove model, customers embark on a fascinating journey into the world of wood-fired stoves, a long-cherished tradition in the Alpine region.

The centerpiece: a fireplace as the focal point

The central attraction is an open fireplace - which has always been a meeting place. Four free-standing, charred wall panels are arranged around the fire, displaying stoves and tiles. A massive monolith with drilled ribs and rustic charm sits enthroned beneath the smoke extractor hood. A tiled storage stove serves as a backdrop, separating the exhibition area from the quieter zone with desk, meeting table and alcove.

Archaic elements and modern accents

An ash-grey carpet, oiled MDF furniture, Heraklith ceiling and wall cladding, coarse green plaster and a black soffit create links to archaic motifs from the world of fire. The room is illuminated by two floating metal rings in black, which are mounted under the vaulted roof. The brass accents, whether in the logo, the smoke extractor hood or the niche, create elegant highlights.

A look at the interior design

The showroom is divided into a high area facing the street, which is spanned by a vaulted roof structure, and a rear area with a suspended ceiling.

An inviting atmosphere and corporate values

The client's desire to create an inviting presentation space pervades the newly designed rooms. This conveys the company philosophy, characterized by competence, reliability and quality, while the emotional component is by no means neglected.
