Drops - Vase

A strong sculptural gesture, this vase will make the ultimate statement in a room. The main body of the piece is carved from a single monolithic block of heavy crystal, ground and polished over many days by skilled artisans to give it that showstopping lustre that only hand cut crystal has. Once the sides are exceptionally flat and exceptionally straight, the 10 solid crystal balls are bonded to the surface using Fundamental Berlin's proprietary pigmented bond. The bonding layer itself is less than 8 µm thin, and contains very pure yellow and magenta pigments that are allowed to begin to fuse into each other. As you move around the piece, you will see that from some angles, the crystal balls are filled with a rush of colour, while from others the piece is perfectly clear and still, giving the piece its own version of the Mona Lisa smile.

Fundamental Berlin works with skilled crystal artisans who hand craft every single object. Natural fluctuations in material including small bubbles can occur.
