Candle holders shape the light in a room long after the candles are lit, which is why many are designed as sculptural objects. Check which candle a holder takes, a standard dinner candle of about 2.2 cm in diameter, a tealight or a wider pillar candle, and place candles away from drafts so they burn evenly and do not drip.
Leading brands include STOFF Nagel with the stackable Nagel candle holder, reissued from Werner Stoff's original 1960s drawings, Frama, Fundamental Berlin, Serax, HAY, Jacob Egeberg, HKLIVING and Kristina Dam Studio.
