Alessandro Mendini, born in Milan in 1931, was a designer, architect and critic at the centre of Italian Radical design in the 1960s and 1970s and later of Postmodernism. He edited Domus in the early 1980s and worked with Alessi, Swarovski, Hermès and Supreme. This is the first monograph on his complete work, with many documents and images not published before.
The text is by critic Stefano Casciani, who worked with Mendini for many years, and is illustrated with photographs, ephemera and Mendini's own sketches. The book has a pink cloth cover showing one of his magazine covers and a sketch of the Proust chair, with die-cut chapter openers with wavy edges. Hardback, 305 by 238 mm, 300 pages.
