Alexander Girard was a leading figure in mid-century American design who brought strong colour and pattern to modernism. He is best known for his textiles for Herman Miller and for interiors such as La Fonda del Sol restaurant in New York, as well as the rebranding of Braniff International Airways.
Todd Oldham and Kiera Coffee assembled this monograph in partnership with Girard Studio and organised it by discipline, from textiles and furniture to graphic design, illustration and architecture. It contains more than 800 images, some unpublished, and double gatefolds with object sketches and the Action Office panels. Hardback, 290 by 250 mm, 408 pages.
