Two candleholders for taper candles from the Bloom Botanica series by Helle Damkjær for Georg Jensen. The design recalls spring, when new petals emerge from a flower bud after winter, and the polished surface gives the sculptural forms a sense of movement.
Danish-born Damkjær works out every shape in clay before it is made in metal. The candleholders are stainless steel with a mirror-polished finish, 20 cm high, and suit a dining table or windowsill.
