La Michetta is a modular sofa designed by Gaetano Pesce for Meritalia. The name refers to the michetta, the bread roll of Milan, and the rounded, irregular volumes follow that image. The sofa is not one fixed shape: seats, backs and arms are separate elements that can be rearranged and combined. Composition C01 has one seat of 144 cm, one back of 107 cm and one arm of 73 cm, joined by metal hooks into a sofa 185 cm wide.
The elements are upholstered in Linda, a cotton velvet from Meritalia's category B. The surface is buttoned in an irregular, three-dimensional pattern, so the quilting rises and sinks differently across each module, and every module has a wooden structure underneath. C01 comes in the colour combinations listed, with seat, back and arm in separate shades or in a single colour.
