Muse – Vase S Saffron

Beauty lies in a reaching for order, but not in its grasping.

These sensuous, full-bodied crystal vases were developed with material specialist Ella Einhell and artisanal glassblowers in Bohemia. Using a combination of formwork and distortion, Fundamental Berlin developed a process that ensures that each vase is voluptuous and unique.

The opalescent colour comes from an ancient technique of adding ground organic cows bones to the glass to give it the milky, pearly shimmer. The vases are handmade, and the distribution of pigment is subtly uneven, for a better play of light.

Fundamental Berlin works with skilled crystal artisans who hand craft every single object. Natural fluctuations in material including small bubbles can occur.
