This freestanding Back2Back unit on coasters is a refined composition within the iconic Aluminium Shelving System by Andreas Christen. First developed for the 1964 Swiss National Exhibition and brought into production by Lehni in 1970, the system is now regarded as a milestone of Swiss modernism.

What may seem like a standalone piece is, in fact, an expression of the system's modular intelligence. Built from lightweight yet robust bent aluminium sheets and stabilized with a signature cross-brace, the Back2Back carries the same DNA as the full shelving configurations — open on both sides and equally suited as a room divider, a workspace companion, or a central storage element.

Lightweight, tool-free to dismantle, and endlessly adaptable, the system allows for countless configurations — from full shelving walls to compact, freestanding pieces like this.
