Mono Zeug was designed by Michael Schneider for the company's 100th anniversary in 1995. Its shapes refer to the first tools: the knife is modelled on a hand axe, the slender fork on an early spear, the spoon on a cupped hand. It is also a nod to Mettmann, where Mono is based and where the Neanderthal was found.
The pieces are stainless steel 18/10 with a matt brushed finish; the knife has a hardened steel blade and a hollow handle for balance. All pieces are dishwasher safe. Awards: Form, Frankfurt 1995 and iF Award, Hanover 1996.
