The design of the Panthella lamp is one of Verner Panton's most significant designs and reflects the Danish architect's remarkable personality. He wanted to design an organically shaped lamp that provided 100% glare-free light, with the stand and shade serving as light reflectors. Panton developed the Panthella lamp in 1971 in collaboration with Louis Poulsen. The lamp's distinctive shape and its ability to reflect a soft light from its trumpet-shaped base have earned it the status of a design icon. The Panthella 160 Portable lamp is a smaller version of the original design. The lamp has a diameter of only 160 mm, making it perfect for carrying from room to room or outside onto the balcony or into the garden. It looks great anywhere and creates a wonderful atmosphere.
