The VL 45 Portable is based on Vilhelm Lauritzen's famous VL 45 Radiohus pendant lamp. It can be taken anywhere to create light and atmosphere in indoor and outdoor spaces with its classic hand-blown opal glass. In the 1940s, the famous Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen designed the VL 45 Radiohus pendant lamp for Radiohuset, the Danish Broadcasting Corporation building in Copenhagen – his magnum opus. The pendant lamp was originally called “The Office Lamp.” Historical photos show the VL 45 Radiohus above the Eames Lounge Chair in the home and studio of legendary American designers Charles and Ray Eames in Los Angeles in the 1950s. The design, with its special lighting and sophisticated look and feel, still fits in with today's interior design trends.
