Cabins brings together 50 small, low-impact buildings from around the world, most of them set alone in forests, in the mountains or beside a lake. Examples range from a coastal studio in England to a bamboo bungalow in Sri Lanka, each reducing architecture to a human scale with simple, efficient and environmentally considerate means.
The texts are by Philip Jodidio, who edited Connaissance des Arts for more than 20 years and has written many architecture books for TASCHEN. The illustrations are by Marie-Laure Cruschi, a French illustrator who founded the Paris studio Cruschiform in 2007. Published in TASCHEN’s 45th Edition series, hardcover, 512 pages, with text in German, French and English.
