Doo-Wop began in the 1950s as the Navy Pendant, developed by Louis Poulsen together with the Navy Buildings Department and used for many years in naval canteens and offices. It left the catalogue in the early 1980s, returned as Doo-Wop in 2012 in new colours and brass, and gained a copper edition in 2017. The form is closely tied to the New Look of the 1950s.
The shades are still spun by hand and finished with a rolled edge that gives them visual volume. A white lacquered inner cone directs soft light downwards; the outer shade, lit through an opening in the cone, spreads diffused light up and down.
At Ø 28.3 cm, it suits a dining table, kitchen or hallway. Available in white or dark grey powder-coated aluminium, or in unlacquered brass and copper; the brass shade is spun from solid sheet.

Care
| Aluminium | Clean with a soft cloth, lukewarm water and a mild detergent, then dry. Avoid abrasive sponges and acidic or alkaline cleaners. Raw aluminium may darken slightly over time. |
|---|---|
| Brass | Untreated brass develops a natural patina. Dust with a dry cloth; to restore the shine use a brass polish. Lacquered brass only needs a soft, dry cloth. |
| Copper | Copper darkens naturally over time. Dust with a dry cloth; use a copper polish if you prefer the original shine. Keep away from moisture if you want to slow the patina. |
