Gio Ponti worked as an architect, magazine editor, artist and academic, and his work moved freely between these disciplines. From Milan he led the development of modern design in Italy, with light chairs, ceramics, textiles, tiles and lamps as well as buildings that range from villas to a skyscraper.
This volume in TASCHEN’s Basic Architecture series traces his best-known works with archival images, a timeline and a map of his buildings in Milan. The author, Graziella Roccella, is an architect and assistant professor of architectural design in Turin, with a particular interest in interiors and sustainable residential building. English edition, hardcover, 96 pages.
