Mono A is the cutlery that started Mono. Peter Raacke designed it in the late 1950s for Herbert Seibel, third generation of the family firm, with one aim: cutlery that is simple to produce and built to last. Launched in 1959, its plain flat form was considered too radical at first and only won its first major prize, the Bundespreis Gute Form, in 1973.
Every piece is made of stainless steel 18/10 with a silky matt brushed finish; knife blades are hardened blade steel that holds its edge. All pieces are dishwasher safe. Choose from the place setting and its extensions, from table spoon and fork to fish, snail and cocktail forks. The table knife comes with Raacke's original short blade or a later long blade.
