PH 2/1 Wall Lamp

The PH 2/1 Wall Lamp is based on the iconic three-shade system Poul Henningsen developed in 1925/26 in collaboration with Louis Poulsen, shaping light design for decades. His goal was to create soft, glare-free illumination that brightens a room while minimising shadows.

Using a scientific approach inspired by the lituus curve, Henningsen ensured light is distributed evenly across the shades. This principle became the foundation of an entire system of nearly 1,000 models – now celebrated worldwide as a design classic.

The PH 2/1 is a hybrid: the top shade is approx. 20 cm, while the two lower shades come from the 1/1 series – ideal for lower mounting heights without compromising light quality. Early versions were made of metal, later also of glass for even softer diffusion.

The result is a timeless lighting system with functional elegance, designed to illuminate interiors softly, evenly and without glare.
