Poul Henningsen designed the three-part lampshade back in 1925/26, and the first models, created with the help of Louis Poulsen, were exhibited at a show in Paris. The collaboration with Louis Poulsen lasted until his death in 1967. Throughout his life, Poul Henningsen was committed to creating luminaires with glare-free light that cast soft shadows and directed the light cone to the right place. The PH 4/3 pendant lamp was launched in 1966. It was designed according to the same principles as the other lamps with three-part shades, namely based on the logarithmic spiral with the light source at its center.
