Poul Henningsen designed the three-part lampshade back in 1925/26, and the first models, created with the help of Louis Poulsen, were shown at an exhibition in Paris. This collaboration lasted until P. Henningsen's death in 1967. Throughout his life, Poul Henningsen was committed to creating luminaires with glare-free light that cast soft shadows and direct the light cone to the right place. The PH 4½ 4 Glass Pendant Lamp is one of 30 models in the series with a 3-part shade, three of which are outdoor lamps. Poul Henningsen was not only concerned with designing a lamp, but an entire system, which over the years has resulted in around a thousand models.
