Poul Henningsen designed the PH Artichoke in 1958 for the Langelinie Pavilion restaurant in Copenhagen, where it still hangs today. He built on an idea from his PH Septima of the late 1920s: alternating elements that conceal the light source while letting the light pass.
Seventy-two leaves sit in twelve rows of six on a chrome-plated steel frame. Each leaf has a white-painted inner side and is placed so that the bulb stays hidden from any angle, sending light both into the fixture and out into the room without glare. The leaves come in laser-cut brass, copper or stainless steel, or in white or black powder-coated steel.
Suited to dining rooms and larger living spaces, it comes in Ø 48, 60, 72 and 84 cm, with an E27 socket or integrated LED controlled via DALI or Bluetooth. Ø 48 and Ø 60 are also available in Dusty Blue, Dusty Green and Soft White with a chrome-plated or brass-metallised frame.

Care
| Steel | Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry immediately. Powder-coated surfaces tolerate a mild detergent; avoid abrasive cleaners. Raw steel can develop a patina and is best kept dry. |

| Brass | Untreated brass develops a natural patina. Dust with a dry cloth; to restore the shine use a brass polish. Lacquered brass only needs a soft, dry cloth. |
