Shigeru Ban, the Tokyo-born architect who received the Pritzker Prize in 2014, is a member of the Voluntary Architects Network, and his use of recycled materials has supported humanitarian work around the world. This book stand follows the same approach, combining cardboard tubes with plywood in a light, sculptural structure.
It is a smaller version of the stand Ban designed for Murals of Tibet, the TASCHEN SUMO volume, and is intended for TASCHEN Collector's Editions. Ban studied at SCI-Arc in California and the Cooper Union in New York and works from Tokyo, Paris and New York.
