Vilhelm Lauritzen created the VL Ring Crown series of pendants, chandeliers and wall lamps for Radiohuset, the headquarters of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation in Copenhagen, inaugurated in 1945. The floor lamp, introduced in 2025 together with a table version, adds a standing form to the series while keeping its original materials.

A glossy shade of mouth-blown, three-layered opal glass sits on a frame of polished brass. Light falls directly downwards through the opening at the bottom of the shade, while the glass itself glows evenly and spreads soft, glare-free light around the lamp.

At 131.3 cm high, it suits living rooms and hallways. It comes with a 3.2 m white textile cord with plug and foot switch, and takes one E27 bulb. Lauritzen also designed the VL 38, VL Studio and VL 45 lamps for the same building.

    Care

Glass Clean with a soft cloth and glass cleaner or water with a drop of detergent. Mouth-blown and coloured glass is best washed by hand.
Brass Untreated brass develops a natural patina. Dust with a dry cloth; to restore the shine use a brass polish. Lacquered brass only needs a soft, dry cloth.
