Vilhelm Lauritzen designed the VL Ring Crown series for Radiohuset, the Copenhagen headquarters of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation, opened in 1945. The original family comprised a pendant, chandeliers and wall lamps; the table and floor lamps were added in 2025 and keep the materials of the lamps installed in the building.

The shade of glossy, mouth-blown, three-layered opal glass spreads soft, even light all around, while an opening at the bottom lets direct light fall downwards. The light stays glare-free and calm. The metal parts are satin-polished brass.

With a 15 cm shade, it suits a sideboard, bedside table or desk. It takes one E14 bulb and has a switch on the base and a 3 m white textile cord with plug.

    Care

Glass Clean with a soft cloth and glass cleaner or water with a drop of detergent. Mouth-blown and coloured glass is best washed by hand.
Brass Untreated brass develops a natural patina. Dust with a dry cloth; to restore the shine use a brass polish. Lacquered brass only needs a soft, dry cloth.
