The VL Studio Wall Lamp goes back to a lamp Vilhelm Lauritzen designed in the 1940s for Radiohuset, the Danish Broadcasting House in Copenhagen, inaugurated in 1945. Some of these lamps were placed outside the studios and showed with a red or green light whether a recording was taking place, hence the name. Louis Poulsen reintroduced the wall lamp in 2022, true to the original with minor modifications.
A shade of mouth-blown, three-layered opal glass gives a diffused, glare-free light and evenly lights the area around it. The shade tilts 90 degrees to either side, and the glass unscrews to change the bulb. The brass version is brushed and left untreated, so it develops a patina; the matt black version has an aluminium housing.
Available with a 2.5 m cord, plug and switch on the cord, or without cord for hardwiring. Suited to bedrooms, hallways and living rooms.

Care
| Brass | Untreated brass develops a natural patina. Dust with a dry cloth; to restore the shine use a brass polish. Lacquered brass only needs a soft, dry cloth. |
|---|---|
| Glass | Clean with a soft cloth and glass cleaner or water with a drop of detergent. Mouth-blown and coloured glass is best washed by hand. |
| Aluminium | Clean with a soft cloth, lukewarm water and a mild detergent, then dry. Avoid abrasive sponges and acidic or alkaline cleaners. Raw aluminium may darken slightly over time. |
