Yuh Floor Lamp

Yuh was designed by the Danish-Italian duo GamFratesi for Louis Poulsen in 2017, first in black and white, later also with brass and marble. The name is the phonetic spelling of "you", pointing to a lamp meant to be set by the person using it.

The shade rotates, rises and lowers on the stem, and its form follows that movement: circular at the bottom, it narrows to a slim linear opening at the top that sends a little light upwards. Most of the light falls downwards without glare, and the shade tilts. A button at the top of the stem switches and dims the integrated LED steplessly from 15 to 100 %, with a timer for 4 or 8 hours.

At 140 cm high, it takes up little floor space beside a sofa, reading chair or desk. Versions: black or white aluminium, or a brass stem with a black Nero Marquina or white Carrara marble base.
