Broken Bench

Gufram expands its collaboration with New York studio Snarkitecture with the BROKEN BENCH, an addition to the BROKEN SERIES. Building on the contemporary, radical aesthetic of the BROKEN MIRROR, the series explores the versatility of polyurethane—a material Gufram is renowned for—through playful contrasts of “soft/not soft.”

Designed by Alex Mustonen and Daniel Arsham, the BROKEN BENCH mimics the appearance of concrete while retaining polyurethane’s signature softness. This effect is achieved using Guflac®, Gufram’s patented hand-applied paint, allowing for elasticity and unique textures. Each handcrafted piece is proudly Made in Italy, with subtle variations making every bench unique.

The BROKEN BENCH, resembling a fragment of the BROKEN MIRROR, is a striking irregular slab of “soft cement” polyurethane. Supported by durable plastic girders, it blends bold design with practicality, suitable for both domestic and public spaces.
