Broken Bench Almost White

Broken Bench Almost White is the light edition of Snarkitecture's bench for Gufram: the slab is finished in an off-white tone, so the broken fragment looks like pale stone or plaster rather than grey concrete.

Daniel Arsham and Alex Mustonen designed the original Broken Bench in 2017 as the piece missing from their Broken Mirror, an irregular slab that seems to have come out of a wall. The slab is soft polyurethane, finished by hand with Guflac®, and rests on beams of a highly resistant plastic agglomerate. It looks rigid but gives slightly under the body, the contrast between appearance and touch that runs through the whole series.

Almost White was released in 2024 as a limited edition of 777 pieces, 190 cm long and 43 cm high. As each slab is finished by hand, its surface differs slightly from the next. The dark version is Almost Black, the original is the Broken Bench, and the matching mirror is Broken Mirror Almost White.
