Bocca Dark Lady Sofa

Dark Lady is Studio 65's Bocca in deep black, with a removable piercing in chromed metal. The lip-shaped sofa dates from 1970 and draws on Salvador Dalí's 1935 portrait of Mae West; the Dark Lady edition of 2008, limited to 500 pieces, gives it a darker and more provocative edge.

The body is soft polyurethane under a removable fabric cover, 212 cm wide and 85 cm high. The chrome piercing can be taken off, so the sofa can also be shown in plain black. Each piece is upholstered by hand, so small differences between pieces are part of the work.

Bocca belongs to the permanent collections of the Fondation Louis Vuitton and the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Design Museum in London. The original red edition is Bocca, the pink one Pink Lady; the 1:8 miniature is Guframini Bocca.
