La Cova Sofa

LA COVA, designed by Gianni Ruffi in 1973 and crafted by Gufram, transforms surreal art into a cozy relaxation oasis, blurring the lines between sitting, nesting, and dreaming. This unique refuge embodies the physical and mental need for security and tranquility.

Its organic, eccentric form—a hollow polyurethane structure covered in hand-sewn fabric—features thousands of felt scraps arranged in a spiral to mimic a nest. The seemingly random fabric colors create unique hues for each piece, reflecting a culturally rich narrative.

An icon of Gianni Ruffi's vision and Gufram's radical design, LA COVA is featured in prestigious museums, including the Deste Foundation and Montreal's Musée des Beaux Arts. It’s a sculpture and design object that invites reflection in true Gufram style.
