Punch A Wall is a real punching bag disguised as a column of orange bricks. Studio Job designed it for Gufram in 2024 and built the piece on a contradiction: the bag invites a punch, while the image of a brick wall holds the fist back. Soft and hard, dream and reality meet in one object.
The bag is moulded from expanded polyurethane and finished entirely by hand with Guflac® Ultra, the further development of the elastic paint Gufram introduced more than 50 years ago. The coating keeps the surface flexible and durable. The bag is 119 cm tall with a diameter of 38.5 cm and hangs from a 150 cm chain.
Punch A Wall is a limited edition of 333 pieces. Every brick is painted by hand, so pattern and colour vary slightly from bag to bag. It works as a training bag and, hung in a hall or studio, as a sculpture.
