Red Baby is one of Keith Haring's crawling babies, taken off a carousel and turned into a seat for the home. Haring designed the carousel for Luna Luna, the amusement park made entirely by artists, among them Jean-Michel Basquiat, David Hockney and Rebecca Horn, which opened in Hamburg in 1987. After Luna Luna reopened at The Shed in New York, Gufram chose two of the carousel seats, the crawling baby and the dog, and produced them in 2025.
The figure is made of soft polyurethane and finished in Guflac®, so Haring's flat, graphic line becomes a solid shape: a bright red body outlined in black. It is 95 cm long, 35 cm deep and 54.5 cm high and weighs 10 kg. As with all Gufram pieces, the finish is applied by hand and small variations are part of it.
The same figure is also made as Blue Baby, and the carousel dog as Green Dog, a bench of 184 cm.
