Andy's Orange Cactus is painted in a burnished, coppery orange. It is one of three versions Gufram released in 2025 with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, following a first Andy's Cactus in 2022. The colours are taken from Warhol's last self-portraits, the 1986 silkscreens showing the artist in his fright wig.
The form is the coat stand Guido Drocco and Franco Mello designed for Gufram in 1972, an object that replaced the logic of modern furniture with irony and so sits naturally beside Warhol's work. It is cast in soft polyurethane, with four arms and 2,165 nodes, and finished by hand with Guflac®, Gufram's elastic lacquer. Each colour is limited to 99 pieces, and hand finishing means small differences between them.
The Cactus family in the shop also includes Another Green Cactus, Nerocactus and the 1:8 miniature Guframini Cactus.
